TALENT PLACEMENT PROGRAMME (TPP) 2026
GUIDELINES
A. Introduction
The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) initiated the Talent Placement Programme (TPP) to assist timber companies in identifying, developing and acquiring skilled and professional workforce.

Certificate and Diploma Holders: Reimbursement of RM800 per month (up to RM4,800 per trainee).
Degree Holders: Reimbursement of RM1,200 per month (up to RM7,200 per trainee).
Limited to a maximum of four (4) trainees per company/group of companies.

Certificate and Diploma Holders
i. Minimum salary of RM1,700 per month from the commencement date of training until completion of the programme, subject to any deduction for sick leave without medical certificate from a medical practitioner approved by the Training Provider without replacement of training day thereof and the said sick leave shall not exceed seven (7) days during the term of On-Job-Training Programme.
ii. Social Security (SOCSO) contribution.
iii. Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contribution.
Degree Holders
i. Minimum salary of RM2,500 per month from the commencement date until completion of the programme, but subject to any deduction for sick leave without medical certificate from a medical practitioner approved by the company without replacement of working day thereof and the said sick leave shall not exceed seven (7) days during the term of Engineer Placement Programme.

E. Application
1. Applying company shall register for an account at MTC IAP Portal: (https://iap.mtc.com.my/index.jsp) Once the account registration is approved, the company will receive an email notification and instructions to log into the Portal.
2. The company shall complete their company profile in the online application portal.
3.Company with existing account in the portal shall log in and update their company profile. The company profile can be updated at any time and should be kept up to date for MTC’s evaluation.
4. Company registration documents (to be uploaded in MTC’s IAP Portal):
a) Latest Section 78 and Section 58 forms (Companies Act 2016) or certified true copies of Form 24 and 49 (Companies Act 1965)
b) For enterprises, valid SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) documentation is required.
5. Internship:
a) The registered company may source interns independently or through MTC (subject to students’ availability).
b) Upon selection of the intern, the company shall issue a letter of acceptance.
c) Documents to be submitted via email to MTC include:
• Reply form to the institution.
• Internship Training Proposal (refer to Appendix I).
6. On-Job-Training (OJT):
a) Upon successful completion of the internship, the registered company may select or recruit the trainee for employment.
b) The company shall issue an offer letter to the selected trainee.
c) The company shall assign a project based on the trainee’s field of study and competency.
d) Documents to be submitted via email to MTC (mtctpp@mtc.com.my) include:
• Offer letter issued to the trainee.
• Resume or curriculum vitae (CV) of the trainee.
• A Project Proposal for the trainee (refer to Appendix II).
7. Upon verification of the submitted documentation, MTC will issue a conditional approval letter to the applying company.
F. Reimbursement
i) Allowance payment vouchers, pay slips or bank slips
ii) Daily attendance record (for Internship).
iii) Student’s internship report (for Internship).
iv) Letter of Offer for employment or student performance evaluation. Please state the reason for not offering employment if the intern is not offered a position in the company (for Internship).
v) Internship and OJT Evaluation Report as per Appendix III.
G. Non-Compliance
In the event of non-compliance with any of the provisions contained herein, the company must refund in full the disbursement amounts to MTC within fourteen (14) calendar days from the receipt of a written notice from MTC. MTC reserves its rights to initiate legal action to recover the disbursed amount and/or any other actions deemed suitable. All costs incurred in pursuing such actions shall be solely borne by the company.
H. Amendment
MTC reserves the right to amend the Guidelines of this Programme at any time without any prior notice. Interested companies are highly encouraged to refer the IAP Portal for the latest version of the Guidelines from time to time.
